McC Ranch: Nikki + Matthew

It’s hard to find a place prettier than Northern Colorado during the fall. Many brides choose this time of year to get married due to the cooler weather and changing leaves. During this time of year, outdoor weddings are very popular and McC Ranch is a perfect outdoor venue in Masonville, CO, just west of Fort Collins.  Its expansive property and mature trees give any wedding a rustic feel, and promises unique mountain backdrops that most think can only be found hours away.

Nikki and Matt chose this venue for their September wedding and put months into customizing the details of their ceremony.  Nikki is a DIY maven and hand-made the paper flowers, archway, globes and birdcage that were so prevalent during her ceremony and reception.  All of these were aided with floral arrangements by Fleurish, a floral company based in Fort Collins.

For her walk down the aisle, Nikki chose a dress from the Masonville Mercantile, a long-standing boutique in the small town of Masonville, and boots from Lane Boots.  Sarah Ferarro with Salon Essentials and Avie Valenzuela, a Clinique consultant, were in charge of hair and makeup.  Nikki’s bridesmaid dresses were found at David’s Bridal, as was her bridal robe.  Her flower girls were outfitted by Mud Puddles.

Matt and his groomsmen were dressed by Men’s Wearhouse, and they chose a classic suspenders and vest look.

McC Ranch has a large barn that can accommodate a beautiful reception and dance floor, where Nikki & Matt’s guests dined and danced the night away, celebrating the newly weds.  Beautiful sliding barn doors and lantern chandelier gave this space a rustic feel that is unparalleled in Northern Colorado.  Plus, the sheer amount of space available ensured that  guests weren’t stepping on each other’s feet or elbowing each other while they enjoyed the reception.

Even as the sun set, the DJ kept the music going and a plethora of lights kept the party well lit in the evening hours.  DJ/ MC Johnny Cruz made sure everyone had fun and that a conga line was formed (as it should be at every wedding).  This gave the bride and groom some time to sneak outside to catch some sunset photos on their own, and enjoy some alone time.

All photos from this beautiful Fort Collins wedding were shot by Kyla Hammel of KJean Photography.

As the sun sets (literally) on another Fort Collins wedding, I hope this gave you ideas for your own wedding, and some good vendors to reach out to if you like their work.  If you have any questions, reach out to me via the Contact Us link.

Until the next post, have a wonderful week and happy planning!
